Amy Nabors

I have been teaching math for 18 years. I earned my doctorate in Developmental Education Administration in 2020. I love working with students whose favorite subject is anything but math. I hope to instill at least an appreciation of the subject. My favorite subject to teach is geometry.  I am married and have 2 children. One will be in college in the fall and the other is in high school. When I have free time, I enjoy seeing and crafting.  Love one another. John 13:34

LaTaunya Pollard

info@fobmontgomery.com

My name is LaTaunya Pollard-Romanazzi. First and foremost, I give all glory and praise to God for the blessings and talent He has given me. I was born and raised in East Chicago, Indiana which is where it all started: in the back allies behind my parents’ home, I began shooting hoops in a garbage can, then a bicycle tire rim and finally on to a real basketball goal which was nailed to a telephone pole.

Supported by my family, friends, teammates and the City of East Chicago, I developed the fundamentals skills necessary to compete on the highest level possible. I played basketball at E.C. Roosevelt High School in Indiana where we won 2 State Championships and had a 4 year record of 91 and 2.  In 1979, I was named Ms. Basketball which was the highest honor in the state of Indiana bestowed upon high school players. I went to California State University at Long Beach on a four year scholarship, broke many records which still stand today and graduated with a degree in physical education. I continued on to play overseas for 8 years and once scored 99 points in a single  game. Please feel free Google me for more honors and awards that I received throughout my career.

I am a firm believer in Jesus Christ, who is my Lord and savior and I am a member of The Ark Church in Conroe, Texas. I have three wonderful children and five precious grandchildren. I have lived in Montgomery, Texas for 11 plus years where my business, Fundamentals of Basketball, began. I love basketball and I love teaching basketball, but most importantly, I love ministering to the children about how God blesses me to help them learn and grow!

Angela Ward

stopandsmelltheroses@hotmail.com

Angela Ward is excited to be joining the Blaze teaching team!  She loves Jesus, reading, writing, singing, running, and theater.  She came to Christ as a college student and, after graduating from UT, worked in social work and full-time campus and student ministry with her husband, Matt, before becoming a mom to four amazing children, who are now 14, 11, and 7 (twins).  She began formally teaching writing classes to homeschool students five years ago and is registered through the Institute of Excellence in Writing (IEW). When she is not teaching, she is leading a local co-op, serving on her church worship team, working as a student ministry volunteer, or hanging out with her family (preferably outside).  She can’t wait to see what God has in store at Blaze this year!
