Chris Gober

Senior Pastor

In December 2015, First Montgomery called Chris to be our new pastor. He was called to ministry in 2011 while on a mission trip in El Salvador, but his background had been in Information Technology.  Chris received his bachelors in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M in 1996 and is pursuing his Master of Divinity from B. H. Carroll. While at A&M he met his wife, Marci, who was studying Elementary Education. Chris and Marci married in 1996 and have 4 children: Grace (Sophomore at Texas A&M), Clay (Freshman at Texas A&M), Laura (10th), and Emma (9th). Marci currently teaches 4th grade at Keenan Elementary.

She is a country girl at heart.  She is a native Texan and was raised on a dairy farm.  She moved to Montgomery in 1997 and joined First Montgomery Baptist Church that same year.  She married John in 2001, and together they have 6 children and 16 grandchildren.  Norma loves cooking and serving others, and together with her team, she gets to enjoy both.  It’s not unusual to find her in the kitchen; stop by and say hello.
