Progress, Progress!
1. The ceiling in the foyer is being raised as high as we can! As you can see, it's torn up right now. Take a look!
2. The expansion of the foyer begins with some new concrete. We're getting closer to getting that poured.
3. The left side of the front of the building has been painted. You can see the new colors picked by our Design Team!
4. The east side of the building has been painted to match the front. It's a BIG improvement!

Hurricane Beryl has caused significant challenges this week. Construction slowed greatly because of our power outages and the outages of our subcontractors. However, our power came back on this afternoon, so we should see more progress soon.

When Beryl came through Montgomery, we lost several pieces of our roof over the gym. We are assessing the repairs needed. We also had all of our offices flooding. We'll need to replace the carpet and baseboards.

Also, U-Haul has agreed to pay to rebuild the awning over the office door, so that should begin fairly soon, too.
 

Sprinkler installation has holes in the ceilings all over the building, but the rooms are usable. The front foyer entrance will continue to be closed for quite some time. The map below from June 8 is still in effect. The photo below is of the rotted wood that was in the columns of the front awning.

Great news! The damaged awning by the office doors has been removed, so we can enter the back parking lots through that driveway again!

The renovation of the front of Building A has begun! While this is exciting time, it does block access into the main foyer from the outside and eliminates all parking against the building in the front parking lot. We are asking all able-bodied church members to park in the parking lot behind Building B (the Office & Children's Building). This saves the parking lot behind the sanctuary for handicapped parking, our senior adults, and visitors. Thank you for your flexibility as we improve our facilities!!

Due to an accident, the awning  by the church office is too damaged to pass. We have the east entrance open to allow for parking, but you cannot drive to the back parking lot. Please avoid driving on the field (it's soggy!). Instead, use the west-most entrance (closest to downtown Montgomery) to access the back parking lots. 

We had hoped to keep a single lane of covered drop-off in the front of the building, but we have been informed that the engineer could not make that work, given the dimensions and ADA rules. So, the current plan is to have a covered entrance out front, but no covered drop-off. We are looking into umbrellas and/or another cover of some kind to address this.
