Sharing God's love and building relationships within our community

Are you or your student looking for somewhere to plug-in?

If you're looking, then look no further, the Student Ministry at First Montgomery is just the place for YOU or YOUR STUDENT.

What you can expect when you or your student gets involved in our ministry:

We apply biblical truth to relevant, real-life circumstances that students may be experiencing.

We don't do perfection, rather we recognize we are sinners in need of a Savior. We seek Him & pursue holiness.

We make the extra effort to ensure each student is seen, known, & feels like they belong both at church & outside of church.

We aren't flashy, we do things purposefully & with the intent of glorifying the Lord.

We lead small, meaning we emphasize small group time as one of the more important parts of our ministry.

We make sure prayer is emphasized in all we do.

Weekly Gatherings

BIBLE STUDY // 9:45a

What to Expect:
  • Junior High Students are split into Small Groups by gender. If a student starts with us in 6th grade and doesn't miss any time, the curriculum will take them through the entire Bible. Here we build the foundation.
  • High School Students have the ability to choose what they would like to learn. Classes are CO-ED. Here we focus on discipleship. We have 3 classes they can choose from:
  1. Topical Class (i.e. Spiritual Warfare, Apologetics, How to read the Bible)
  2. Expository Class (i.e. Verse by verse studies of books of the Bible)
  3. Foundations Class (i.e. An overview of the entire Bible with a read the Bible in a year reading plan)

What to Expect:
  • We serve FREE dinner from 5-5:30p
  • We give the students from 5-5:45p to hang out in the youth room. This includes:
    • Playing video games on the Wii or Playstation 4.
    • Playing pool, carpet ball, ping pong, or just enjoying each other's company
  • From 5:45-7p, we spend time in...
    • Worship
    • Hearing the word of God (topical lessons, more info on teaching in calendar)
    • Small Groups (split by age and gender)
    • Group Prayer to close the night

I could go on and on and brag about how awesome our students are. Whatever ownership you give them in the ministry, they excel at it and do everything with excellence. They are willing to jump in, in anything, and lend a helping hand.

More than anything, our students show the love of Christ in the way they carry themselves. They want others to know Jesus and His love. They want people to experience the transforming power of Christ in their life and they are eager to share the Good News with anyone!

We, as leaders, always have a saying that rings true of our students:
