Chris & Marci Gober

Senior Pastor & Preschool Director

Pastor Chris and his wife Marci came to First Montgomery in December of 2015 after he was called to ministry while on a mission trip in El Salvador. His background had been in Information Technology, having received his bachelors in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M in 1996.  While at A&M he met his Marci, who was studying Elementary Education. Chris and Marci married in 1996 and have 4 children: Two adult children (Grace and Clay), and two in high school (Laura  and Emma). Pastor Chris went on to earn his Master of Divinity from B. H. Carroll Theological Institute.

Jon Sheptock

Worship Pastor

Jon has served as the Worship Pastor since 2018. Prior to First Montgomery, he was a singer-songwriter leading worship all across the nation for 13 years.  He has a heart for Theologically accurate worship and truly wants to see the congregation sing in spirit and in truth. Jon is married to his wife Staci of 24 years, and they have three daughters, and a Son in law; Anna (Zach), Sadie and Chloe. He enjoys wrestling, movies, coffee, sports,  and most importantly hanging out with his family.

Larry Reinecke

Senior Adult Pastor

Larry and Kay have been married for 48 years and have three grown children. Larry graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has pastored five churches. He is an avid fisherman and gardener.

Levi Stone

Student Pastor

Levi Stone is originally from Longmont, Colorado (proud Coloradan, born and raised, and a huge Denver Bronco fan). He is an avid lover of coffee and loves to try out different coffee shops. He attended Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry - Student. He has loved student ministry since he was 18. He has had a passion for students since his own youth pastor heavily invested in him in high school. He is always eager and excited to do what he can to make sure students know that they are known and loved by the Creator of the universe. He cannot wait to serve and love on your student. His favorite verse is Romans 5:8-9 (ask him about it sometime).

Janie Johnson

Children's Director

Janie comes to us with a wealth of children’s ministry experience and heart for kids and families. She has earned a Biblical Studies degree from Houston Baptist University. She and her husband, Karl, have been married 35 years and have two grown sons. They live in Bedias, TX where Karl runs his own manufacturing company and raises cattle.

Kay Piland

Missions Director

Kay moved to Montgomery in 2002.  She has taught ESL at First Baptist Church Richardson and has served as an Assistant Director with United Cerebral Palsy for both Montgomery and Harris Counties.  Kay joined First Montgomery in 2016.  She is no stranger to missions; she has served on West Conroe’s Mission Committee, Greeter Ministry, and Special Needs Ministry.  She has also served on the Board for Family Promise. Kay readily admits, “Serving others in need – that is how God’s been using me.  That’s who I am.”  She has four children, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Norma Bowers

Hospitality & Benevolence

Norma serves in Hospitality and Benevolence. She is a country girl at heart.  She is a native Texan and was raised on a dairy farm.  She moved to Montgomery in 1997 and joined First Montgomery Baptist Church that same year.  She married John in 2001, and together they have 6 children and 16 grandchildren.  Norma loves cooking and serving others, and together with her team, she gets to enjoy both.  It’s not unusual to find her in the kitchen; stop by and say hello!

Monica Stanley

Blaze University Director

Monica and her husband Billy have been married for 18 years and have 3 children, Karley, Ashton, and Davin. The Stanleys enjoy camping, boating, hunting, and are currently restoring two classic trucks. During their free time you will find them near a river or lake when they are not camping or spending time with friends and family. Monica and Billy are faithful members of First Montgomery where they have both volunteered with youth ministry for several years. As the daughter of two educators, Monica values quality education for all students. Monica received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Sam Houston State University. Prior to homeschooling, Monica taught in public education and served as a Behavioral Specialist. Monica has been homeschooling her children for nine years. Monica’s vision for Blaze is to instill a love of learning in all students while meeting the needs of unique learners within our community.
