G.O.S.P.E.L. Presentation

An easy-to-memorize, robust gospel conversation based on "Can We Talk?" by One Conversation.

The Beginning

This conversation begins with a simple question:
Imagine if you were to die tonight and stand before God.
And He asks you, "Why should I let you into my heaven?"
What would you say?
(many at this point mention their goodness, works, or family)
Well, God says you can be certain you will have eternal life in heaven.
Would you like to hear how?
(let them answer, and be ready to end the conversation if they don't want to hear)

If they say yes, then begin.

G. God's Character

God is a loving God who made you and loves you very much, no matter what you have done.
But God is also a just judge. He knows all the deeds, thoughts, and motivations in our lives.
And He will accurately judge whether or not we enter heaven.

O. Offense of Sin

Imagine there is a list of everything you have done.
It contains all your best and worst moments.
It's your complete life.
And there is no way we can remove something from our list.

The wrongs on that list are what the Bible calls "sin"
These sins go against God's character are are an offense to Him.
And this sin separates us from a holy God.

S. Sufficiency of Christ

God sent His one and only son, Jesus to show us they way to live.
He lived a perfect life... never sinned even once.
His perfect sacrifice paid the price for our sin (death).

P. Personal Decision

Jesus's death gives us the opportunity to be forgiven for all our sins.
But we must make a personal decision to be forgiven.
We must decide to trust in Jesus to save us from the penalty of our sins.
Ans we must make him the Lord of our lives.

E. Eternal Urgency

There is great urgency in this decision.
We are never guaranteed another day of life.
And this decision affects where we will spend all of eternity: with God in heaven or separated from God in hell.

L. Life Transformation

If we accept Jesus, we not only are guaranteed our eternal well-being, but Jesus helps us change our life here and now. This life transformation is possible only because in Christ we are a new creation.
