    • See You At The Pole – September 28th @ 6:50AM @ school flag pole (MJH, OHJH, MHS, LCHS) & 5:00PM after party at church
      • I need 3-4 other leaders to attend each school's SYATP. I am going to go to Lake Creek this year. So, we need leaders at Oak Hills, Montgomery Junior High, and Montgomery High School. If you lead Junior High, preferably go to where you'd see your students. I am hoping to do one for Blaze too on that Wednesday, but it would be later in the morning around 9AM (if anyone would like to attend; location: First Montgomery).
      • Agenda for this Wednesday will be communicated through group messaging.
    • Fall Retreat: Undivided – October 8-10 @ Forest Glen with Northside Baptist
      • Cost is $150 for the weekend, that will include all your meals, lodging, materials, and a t-shirt (we cover the cost of the trip).
      • Check in on Saturday will be at 11:30AM and we will leave at NOON. We arrive at Forest Glen at 1PM SHARP. We return at 12PM on Monday.

FOR SUNDAY BIBLE STUDY LEADERS

Hey Leaders!  We are continuing new curriculum this next week, which means some students will receive new discipleship guides, if they didn't get them this last Sunday! Please encourage the students to bring these with them each week. We need to also do our best to encourage the kids to do the weekly devotions in them. We will meet at our normal time of 9:30. Please be there by then so we can meet and catch up.

FOR WEDNESDAY SGL's

WE HAVE SEE YOU AT THE POLE THIS WEEK, SO BELOW IS FOR NEXT WEEK. INFO WILL BE SENT THROUGH OUR VOLUNTEERS GROUP CHAT.
Hi Small Group Leaders! We’re starting a new series on one pretty big topic for your students: friendship! It’s called How to Friend! Our hope is to show students over the never few weeks that even though friendship takes work, the work is worth it when it leads to healthy, lasting friendships. This week, we’re encourgaging your group to think about what it means to be a friend to others first. Thanks for all you do for your few!

FOR GROUP

SERIES PREVIEW FOR HOW TO FRIEND:

BOTTOM LINE

Being a friend means serving your friends.

THE GOAL OF SMALL GROUP

To encourage teenagers to think about what being a good friend to others looks like.

THINK ABOUT THIS

This week, we're asking students to shift their thinking on friendship slightly. Rather than focus outwardly on what their friends are or aren’t doing for them, we’re asking them to focus on the kind of friend they are first. Your older students may be able to do this more easily than some of your younger students. Younger high schoolers may not have the self-awareness to know what kind of friend they are yet. Do your best to guide all your students toward recognizing the kind of friend they are now and find ways to encourage them toward making changes that will help them be better friends in the future.

FOR YOU

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

To read the daily devotionals that go along with this series, download the YouVersion Bible app on iOS or Android, or visit Bible.com. Just search for HOW TO FRIEND in the Reading Plans section to get started. Then, encourage your students to join you in reading the daily devos as you all walk through this series together!

SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK

"...so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him."
– John 13:4-5
